Veneers

Veneers

What are veneers?

Veneers are thin, tooth-colored ceramic restorations that are bonded to your teeth. Generally, they are minimally invasive and can even be prep-less in some cases. Minimally invasive is an approach to dentistry that aims to preserve the natural tooth enamel as much as possible. Prep-less veneers can be done on a case by case basis where no drills are used and no tooth structure is removed. It is a revolutionary technique that delivers a beautiful smile while also maintaining all your healthy enamel. With the strength and technology of the newer dental ceramics Dr. Homonnay can brighten the shade, improve the shape and enhance your natural smile and beauty.

A veneer improves the appearance of the visible front surface of a tooth by covering it with a paper-thin contact lens layer of porcelain. Veneers have become one of the most sought after services in cosmetic dentistry. Veneers are excellent for repairing chipped or cracked teeth, delivering vibrant white color and fixing small gaps between your teeth.

This process begins with an evaluation of your smile and talking with you about your goals and vision. Following the evaluation, we will decide whether we will use the minimal approach or the prep-less approach.  From there we will provide you with your prototype restorations, which are temporary provisional restorations that allow you to customize your smile.  You then get to go home and wear these for several weeks.  This gives you a chance to test drive your new veneers, ask your family and friends what they think of your new smile, and see if there are any adjustments that need to be made.

At your next appointment, Dr. Homonnay will make any final changes you desire. Once we have found your smile we will have our dental ceramist fabricate your porcelain veneers.  He will use photographs, shade selections and everything we give him as a blueprint to custom-design your veneers. Your final visit with us will be our bonding appointment where we remove your provisionals, clean your teeth and deliver your new veneers.

Dr. Homonnay has had extensive training in cosmetic dentistry, smile design and ceramics. He is a certified provider of the Micro-thin, Dura-thin veneer.  He has trained with nationally known American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry accredited members. The revolutionary technique of prep-less veneers is on the cutting edge of technology.  None of your natural healthy tooth enamel needs to be removed. This method is the most conservative approach to delivering a beautiful smile.
